About 8 minutes in c+t are staking out a fish market on info from noogie. They catch a kid holding and c walks him over to the river to get info. This occurs on the mia river just a little upstream from ocb and jose marti park.

looks like they have gutted the building now and who knows what will happen to it. Lots of bums in the area now.

Jeremy and I went to see this location last week. A few items about this:
In the episode Tubbs says that it's a "...warehouse on 22nd Street..." which is a long way from where this actually sits. The name on the building is Attanasio Fisheries. I seem to recall seeing the name Attanasio somewhere in the closing credits... One more thing: At the end when they're taking Ramirez's body out to the ambulance you see the entrance to the house. Do my eyes decieve me or is that the same location as Orfil River'as house in "Whatever Works?" |

Wow, yet another Season 1 scene filmed near the OCB. I've lost track of how many there were, but it's a ton. |

DanJ: Michael J. Attanasio was associate producer of the series. I always wondered if the building belonged to him or his family.

The Attanasio Fisheries discussion reminded me that I had intended to talk with DanJ about this episode last December, but I got too busy. Looking at the chase scene with the big OJ-style Ford Bronco, I was totally baffled by the locations. I just watched it last night and figured the whole thing out. Here is an overview, with Roman numerals I, II, III, IV marking the locations in the order in which they appear during the chase:

It all starts when C&T round a corner in Tubbs' Cadillac and pull up to a house. We are in VERY familiar territory here. Behind them as they round the corner (marked with blue X) is the house that was being scoped out in Home Invaders (hot girl on roller skates comes out in that scene). Across the street from that is the house from God's Work and Down For The Count (marked with green X). After they knock on the door, they are shot at and then Alvarado busts out of the garage in his Bronco, turns right, and crosses the bridge.
The whitish structure next to the tennis court can be seen above the bushes when C&T are at the house. Next, they go through an ess-curve, which I cannot locate. Then, they cross another bridge. I believe they are coming out of Sunset Dr. and turning right onto Sunset Harbor Dr. There is a building on this corner that is visible for a few frames. This might be useful if someone wants to confirm this is the correct location.

Next, we are suddenly on Watson Island, the southwest corner to be precise. We see the Bronco driving by a small shack with a red roof, marked with the green X here.
Then, they both drive along the water on a little access road, cross over a grass median, and eventually are driving on MacArthur Causeway, headed east (back to Miami Beach). You can see the Port of Miami in the background across the water. Comically, most shots of Alvarado (Michael Madsen) show South Beach deco hotels in the background.
Perhaps that is a sophisticated film technique known as foreshadowing, because South Beach is where they end up next. Madsen drives through Lummus Park, and gets stopped at Ocean Dr. and 9th St. You can see Casa Grande in the background. It appears to have been renovated, with yellow awnings, and that yellow is visible in this picture to the left of my red arrow.

It does look the same. The final scene begins with an exterior shot that might be helpful (next time you go on a boat ride ).
It looks to me like this is a different house from the scene where Ramirez is on his back lawn. |

Thanks, I was pretty thrilled when I figured it out last night.
I think it was confusing to us because the house looks so plain. It doesn't look like the Sunset Islands at all. It's because we mostly just see the garage, which is totally ordinary looking. Because of its plain appearance, I was thinking the house was on the mainland, like Miami Shores. I remember crossing some little bridges on my way to the Pink House, so I was thinking maybe that was where the chase started. |

Michael Attanasio was one of the supervising producers.
You'll also find other crew member names used in the show. Guanci (Propmaster) is one of them, I just don't remember where it was used.
We use to go to the East Coast Fisheries when I was a kid vacationing from NYC. They had a full blown fish market and very informal restaurant with tables and a lunch counter.
My favorite was a Florida lobster stuffed with a crabmeat mixture and back then it was super inexpensive. The fried smelts were awesome. Deep fried tiny little fish you ate whole, head and all. It looked like a basket of thin onion rings.
When we shot there, we would forego the caterer and have dinner there!
Once they sold the restaurant, they tried to make it one of these "hoity-toity" places with tiny portions and exorbitant prices and completely ruined it. It now stands vacant.
