I'm a LONG time fan but new to the forum...this link doesn't seem to be working anymore, is there a newer/better one?

Mainly interested in locations for the pilot episode, Definitely Miami (saw the thread on that one), and Out Where the Buses Don't run. Thanks!

looking at the establishing shot at the beginning of "Forgive us Our Debts" it again looks like Dinner Key but a different angle to "Whatever Works" or it may be Miami Beach Marina but certainly is not Watson Island or Bayside for "Forgive us Our Debts"

That scene completes the evolution of the marina. Early in MV, you have the old Miamarina. Then there are a few episodes where you can see Bayside Marketplace being constructed (e.g. PayBack). Then there are a few episodes where they move to other marinas (i.e. El Viejo), probably because of the marina being rebuilt. Finally, we have Bayside Marina featured in Freefall.

I watched the final scenes of Freefall and wondered where the meeting of Sonny and Ricardo (where they shook hands over the roof of the Tesa Rossa) took place. It's also the location where they took both off in the TR after which u get the flash back scenes.

To my opinion the location is situated south of the the harbour where St. Vitus was moored and a little north of the roundabout with the red centre.

Could anybody tell me if that's wrong or right and if i'm wrong has anybody got any idea of the correct location?

Thanks

I looked at the episode on DVD and unfortunately it only shows the house from the air and from the inside, not the front.  I also checked Google Earth. The area does look familiar.  If that was the only filming location in the immediate area, it must be the house.

Thanks for helping me reminisce.

Jim

Ok, that narrows it down a lot. I was thinking maybe the Sunrise Harbor house in Tale of the Goat, but it isn't that. There is the house in Tale of the Goat where they find Rico - 4850 SW 80th St. It doesn't quite fit what you say, but it is on the way to the UM campus.

It wasn't any further North than where N. Kendall drive intersects with Old Cutler because I was going to the UM Campus.  I think it was on Old Cutler or very close.  I remember it was a large house on the left side of the road.  It was way North of the the Deering estate.  I've toured that estate and remember the episode well that was filmed there.  As I said it was about 20 years ago and my world has turned over many times since then (Gulf War I, marriage, divorce, children, etc, etc) just like everyone's has, so my memory may be a little faulty.  I sincerely appreciate your responses.  It may remain a mystery.

Do you remember on which side of the road the MV crew was filming? Was it at a house on Cutler Rd, or near Cutler Rd? Also, how far north did you drive - all the way to Brickell?

Hey Jim - prob was The Deering Estate on Old Cutler Road .
The main episode The Deering Estate was featured was "Bushido" from Season 2 - aired November 1985.

It also cropped up in "Cuba Libre" (1987) during the teaser sequence among a few.

The knowledge of MV locations expressed on this site is amazing.  I am enjoying reading the posts.  Learning about the locations is really interesting.  One of you can undoubtedly answer this question.  I have always been curious about what Miami Vice episode they were filming when I passed the MV film crew on Old Cutler Road.  It was between 84 and 88 when I used to drive North on Old Cutler Road from about 193d Street.  I remember the crew was parked in front of a private home.  Can't be more specific.  I have searched the Google Earth views.  Its been years since I lived in the area so I can't be certain that my memory serves me right.  Thanks in advance.

I looked under "Notes" and then "Locations", but it doesn't have any specific information.
